PINK is my favorite color... but is this necessary?

sara's gonna be mad at me for writing a nasty post like this- but, this is my pink eye and this is how nasty my eyes feel and look (see pus in the corner of one eye)
i have to think i gave this to myself... b/c the only time i left the apt in the last couple of days was to go to the doctor.  and i certainly haven't touched anyone.
it's like i live in a dorm room again.  sad.

guilt over my charming personality.

when i left for school this morning, my parking lot looked like this:

i felt bad constantly taking pictures- but, then when i got home, there was this GIGANTIC pile of about 8ft high snow right behind my car- ie: pushed up against the wall. kinda like this:

so out of their "three lots" they still have one one lot that still looks like the above picture.
and... i feel bad that my natural charm and sweet personality made them go dig my car out- even though i had no real reason to "have" to have my car out.
i know they do have to eventually free everyone, and i guess if other people were hovering out there, their cars would have been freed too.

the process included the plumber dude getting in my car and un-stucking it for me b/c they realized telling me which way to turn the wheel wasn't working.
then the plow dude in his SUV, started pushing around the snow, getting rid of the pile of snow- and then moving it around, so that it was now pushed towards the sidewalk.
that plus the other two dudes with shovels and steve with his snow blower were all working to move the pile- so that the SUV guy could push it.    I should have made a video.

anyway, i'm gonna bake these gentlemen cookies.  b/c i asked if they had a beer fund i could give them money for- but they laughed and said, no, they're just doing their job.
so cookies will maybe help them as they continue to clean up this mess.

i hope they can at least work through the first lot tonight... (although admittedly my walled lot was probably the one that was most problematic b/c you can't just push snow into a wall )   but, oof... i feel guilty for say the people in LOT 1 who still have that 2 feet of snow lying there.

i got my $85 worth today.
and i think my dad got back a quarter of that illegal parking $140 tow...
too bad i'm so charming.

STUCK IN A BLIZZARD...

Sorel's
Blizzard PM shot
waking up to a stuck front door
this is about 20 inches of snow

no school.

NU doesn't cancel school.  They haven't since 1979.  But Wednesday was cancelled.  My 8am prof on Thursday cancelled because he knew the commuters wouldn't make it.  I'm kinda expecting to go to one class tomorrow... but my midterm was postponed.

The doggies have pooped in the snow outside my window- so maybe I'll have to go out there sometime today and see it all for myself.  Just not out my front door.

The wind gusts of snow wind look awful.
No good TV is on, the busses are running, I live on a major street so-I do see signs of life.

Kinda wish I could go down to the lake.
I guess I'll take one of my midterms now.

here's a snow song

Put on a Happy Face

Why not celebrate George Castanza's Bye Bye Birdie performance?

This is my "Tulipa Pink" that I bought today to live in my living room.
As this sucker blooms- and hopefully doesn't die, I will use it to remind myself to be happier so that I stop being drama for Ichiban and Dave... (and Mom, and Dad and Buxta... and everyone else who finds me seven clicks too many)  :)

it was also on sale at Dominicks for 2.99 and the cashier told me to not discriminate against my tulip who  wanted a ride with the rest of my vegetables in the grocery bag.  she was funny.

STOP the smoked salmon?

so i'm at the grocery store and this middle aged man is in front of me at the cashier.
he's got his stuff loaded on the conveyer belt or whatever, but has this package of smoked salmon in his grocery cart- like where you would put the child... and since smoked salmon is thin, it was just there.

i was eye-ing it- wondering if he would notice... but he went through checkout with it- and presumably would have left the store with the smoked salmon sitting there like a small child.

was i wrong for not being like- excuse me sir, shalom and good evening.  your locks are hanging out in the cart and did you want to pay for them?  mazel?

but- i was minding my own business.... and waiting to see what happened.

1. i wonder if he feels like a bad person when he finds it?
2. i wonder if this is white collar crime- ie: the rich Chicagoland suburb crime?
3. maybe he'll not see it out in the parking lot and it will stay in a cart?

i have no idea.
but I JUDGE YOU...!

... hair so healthy it shines!

so for whatever reason that i read my "mom blogs" about saving money with coupons and such... i came across a P&G (proctor and gamble) offer for free pantene shampoo, and i think i just like getting mail.

so, i got a free pantene shampoo and conditioner for fine hair in the mail.
i've been a faithful shampoo/conditioner for fine hair psycho people for probably 5 years- going with really expensive salon options because somehow i think they'll be better for my hair.

but trying this "new formula" from pantene... has made me think i want to hurry up and finish the gigantic 33.8 oz bottle i've been using for probably close to a year- and go back to pantene.

i feel like my hair has more volume before putting products in...
so, i encourage you to sign up for your free P&G offers because they give lots of great coupons on great offers.

just another snowy tuesday...

RAWR! snow or exhale?  heee heee

at least snow days make things seem quieter and prettier.

hard being a genius...

it's january...

... and it just occurred to me to close my storm windows.

(it'll be a progressive project as some of my windows are painted shut and it may take a MAN to put those storm windows down for me)
don't get me wrong, i'm proud of myself for remembering this is a good way to stop drafts. :)

technology drama.

so after coming home from the gym, and putting on my pj's i get a voicemail who are we kidding, i saw he was calling and didn't answer from my boss- who asked me if i was on campus so i could pick up some music he needed because he's freaking out for a recital.

... in his world that meant i'd go to the library then go to the hall and give it to him.

... but i'm a doctorate student for a reason, found the score online  and called him back to tell him it's waiting in his email box.

then i get this email:

Thank you for sending the score. It is great and I don't need for you
to get it tomorrow from the library. It really helps to live in the
21st Century!

haaaa haaaa haaaaaa......!!!!!

Ryan Gosling's Big Gift

what woman does not love Ryan Gosling?

one of my favorite dramas

This is Dr Dew.
He is one of my favorite forms of drama.
he likes video chatting with me!
... except that usually I'm drama, and he enjoys it- because he has a masochistic side.

... and that's why he's perfect for me.

When Sara finally met Dave, 7 months into the relationship- she said... "don't break A's heart because I'm the one who is going to have to hear about it."

I don't have a more recent picture- because Dave doesn't like picture taking time.

the many faces of a best friend...

Once upon a time I had to play this song at a wedding...  and it was really awkward... b/c it Tim McGraw on the viola, and the bride walked down the backyard with her dog while I played the melody of this song.  It was also weird b/c it was an outdoor wedding July 4, why would you hire a solo viola as your music and insult to injury is that  all her emails were CAPS AND ALWAYS MISSPELLED... but, oh well, that's the bizness!!!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRJ0lpu6XaU
ball time, all the time.

So listen to Tim while you look at pictures of Buxta.
